Book a Black Taxi for transport to one of the major sporting events

There is such an abundance of high quality sporting events at this time of year you really are spoilt for choice. However, getting to and from the events is not always so easy, especially during a hot spell too when temperatures are in the 30’s as they are now and its still June.

So lets take a look at whats going on in and around London at the moment:

Wimbledon Tennis

We see the start of the famous Wimbledon Tennis Championship at the at The All England Lawn Tennis Club, Church Road, Wimbledon, London, SW19 5AE. This is without doubt one of the great events of the year with a tradition going back to the first championships in 1877. If you are going to the championships then something also worthwhile is a visit to the Wimbledon museum.

Cricket World Cup

The Cricket World Cup is being staged in the UK and has already provided a great spectacle with some fascinating matches. England were the pre-tournament favourites but at the moment it is touch and go whether England qualify for the Semi Finals. Australia, New Zealand and India look in the best positions to progress with the other place between Pakistan and England.

The final is at Lords Cricket Ground on Sunday 14th July and sure to be an exciting occasion for all sports fans. Click here for all the remaining fixtures.

British Grand Prix, Silverstone

The British Grand Prix is set for Sunday 14th July at Silverstone with the first practice session underway on Friday. The British Grand Prix has seen some great battles over the years and last year saw a triumphant Sebastian Vettel prevent Lewis Hamilton winning it for a fourth consecutive time. Hamilton is a 5 time winner and shares this with Alain Prost and Jim Clark. One more win would see him the outright leader in most wins.

The Open, Royal Portrush

For golfing fans, The Open is the highlight of the year and this year sees it held at Royal Portrush, 18-21 July. The Open was held once previously at Royal Portrush in 1951 and the first venue outside of the UK mainland. There will be no doubt many golf fans heading to the north coast of Northern Ireland to attend The Open.
